Energy Efficient Lighting Technology

LED Lighting
LED lighting offers the most efficient light output per watt consumed of current lighting technologies. It also offers a greater lamp life which reduces maintenance costs. LED has a larger up front cost but is a less expensive long term solution.

T-5 and T-8 Fluorescent Lighting
Linear fluorescent lighting is a wonderful and inexpensive solution to high energy costs. The lamp life is about 1/3 of the LED lamp life , however the lamp life is 150% of the HID lighting currently used in most commercial and industrial facilities.

Induction Lighting
Induction lighting is a more specialized form of lighting but does an excellent job in harsh or difficult to access environments. Induction lighting has the best longevity of all current technologies and is about equal to the efficiency of the linear fluorescent lighting.

Pulse Start Metal Halide Lighting
Pulse Start Metal Halide lighting is not new to the industry but with vast improvements in reflector technology, it is making a strong comeback. In facilities with dusty environments or unusually high ceilings, these type fixtures should be considered.

Lighting Controls
Lighting controls make sense in almost every situation. The absolute best method of saving energy is to turn off or reduce the amount of lighting when it is not being used. Lighting controls can achieve this in many different ways. Controls are an inexpensive way to reduce costs and have many other benefits such as longer lighting system life and reduced maintenance costs.
